Remote Renewable Case Studies: Participatory Stakeholder Engagement for a Sustainable Future
Organized by: WWF-Canada, the WWF Global Arctic Programme, & Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies, Potsdam, Germany 13. July 2016
The WWF Global Arctic Programme, WWF Canada and the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS Potsdam) are collaboratively organizing a breakout session on improving access to electricity, heat and water in energy-isolated indigenous communities while reducing diesel dependency.
The session will discuss global-regional dimensions of energy isolation's causes and consequences, and will envision a transition from government-funded pilot programs to sustainable business cases with a discussion of government policy, the pooling of expertise and ownership models.
