The Arctic Circle China Forum will be held in Shanghai, May 10-11, 2019. Hosted by the Ministry of Natural Resources of the People's Republic of China, the Forum will be organized in cooperation with the Polar Research Institute of China (PRIC), the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) and Shanghai Science & Technology Museum. The Forum will take place at Shanghai Science & Technology Museum and is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.

Significant discussion will be held on China's involvement in the Arctic through the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as dialogue on ocean and marine science, transport and infrastructure, renewable energy, indigenous socioeconomic development and stewardship, and Arctic governance. More program news and registration information will be published in March.

Governments, universities, companies, research institutions, organizations and associations are welcome to submit proposals for Breakout Sessions to the Secretariat.

Sessions will be accepted based on topic, goals, speakers and scheduling availability. The Arctic Circle provides an open, democratic forum for discussion and cooperation on Arctic Affairs. Proposals may be sent to china@arcticcircle.org.
