The Polar Dialogue

To be launched at the upcoming Arctic Circle Assembly,

October 17 - 19

The Polar Dialogue builds on the preceding Paris Polar Summit held at the initiative of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron in November 2023, and a series of discussions during consultative meetings with key stakeholders in Paris, Reykjavík, Monaco and Berlin.

The Dialogue will consist of a series of sessions, consultative meetings, workshops and high-level Plenary Sessions taking place during the Assembly’s three days.

Key focus will be on science and research cooperation on the Arctic, Antarctic and the Himalaya - Third Pole region, as well as other ice covered areas of the world. High-level political leaders have confirmed their attendance and commitment to the Polar Dialogue for the purpose of enhancing a constructive dialogue with the scientific community.

How to attend the Polar Dialogue?

Access to the Polar Dialogue at the Assembly will be limited. The Arctic Circle Secretariat will soon launch an open call for applications where a few dozen tickets will be allocated to the successful applicants.

Applications are open to scientists, researchers, Indigenous Peoples, scholars, students and others with expertise and enthusiasm for the Polar Regions. Attendees are expected to prioritize their participation and actively engage in the various Polar Dialogue sessions.
