Arctic Circle Prize

The Arctic Circle Prize has been awarded three times. First in 2016 to Ban Ki-moon, then the Secretary-General of the United Nations, in 2019 to John Kerry, President Biden's Special Presidential Envoy for Climate and former U.S Secretary of State, in 2022 to Alfred Wegener Institute and MOSAiC Expedition.

Frederik Paulsen Arctic Academic Action Award

The Frederik Paulsen Arctic Academic Action Award was announced at the 2021 Assembly to an action-oriented scientific initiative directed at reversing the dramatic effects of climate change in a concrete way. This prestigious award was granted once more at the 2022 Assembly to a project seeking to build resilience in Arctic communities.
